Yang Liu
I am currently a Senior Research Associate advised by Prof. Cecilia Mascolo in the Department of Computer Science and Technology, University of Cambridge. I received the B.E. degree in Software Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi, China in 2016 and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science advised by Prof. Zhenjiang Li from City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China in 2020.
I am focusing on developing intelligent mobile and wearable/earable sensing technologies for Internet of Things (IoT) systems with signal processing and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to enable applications of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and smart health.

- I am promoted Senior Research Associate in University of Cambridge.
- Our recent work Enhancing the Applicability of Sign Language Translation got accepted to the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing.
- Our work EarPass: Continuous User Authentication with In-ear PPG has won the "Best Paper Award" at EarComp 2023.
- I will present my undergraduate student Jacob's work Yawning Detection using Earphone Inertial Measurement Units on ACM SmartWear'23 workshop (co-located with ACM MobiCom'23).
